New Zealand Begin Campaign with Unexpected Win

New Zealand begun their campaign with a winning start defeating England by 9 wickets. The English got off to a rocky start with the top order partnerships crumbling at regular intervals. Fortunately Jos Butler (43 runs) and Joe Root (77runs) were able to strike well together and carry England to 282 runs. Matt Henry helped New Zealand’s bowling by taking 3 wickets while Glenn Philips and Mitchell Santner each took two.

New Zealand opening partnership fell quickly when Sam Curran took Will Young’s wicket for a golden duck. Devon Conway (152 not out) and the young Rachin Ravindra (123 not out) then struck a partnership that carried New Zealand over the finish line in just 36.2 overs.

The Kiwis will definitely be looking forward to their next match against the Dutch where they will be looking to bag another win.

South Africa Begin World Cup Campaign with Record-Breaking Win

South Africa began their Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign with a bang, defeating Sri Lanka by 102 runs in their opening match. The Proteas posted a record-breaking total of 428, with Aiden Markram scoring one of the fastest century in World Cup history (106 runs of 54 balls). Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen also chipped in with centuries to help South Africa post their highest ever ODI total.

Sri Lanka were never really in the chase, and they were eventually bowled out for 326. Charith Asalanka was the only Sri Lankan batsman to offer any resistance, scoring 79 runs. Kusal Mendis knocked 76 while Dasun Shanka scored 68.

The win was a major boost for South Africa, who are looking to win their first ever Cricket World Cup. They will be certainly be looking to continue their winning momentum against Australia in their next match which is bound to be nerve-racking.

Bangladesh Begin World Cup Campaign with Winning Start

Bangladesh began their Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign with a winning start, defeating Afghanistan by 6 wickets in their opening match.

Afghanistan batted first and posted a disappointing total of 156, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz scoring 47 runs. Bangladesh got off to a good start, but they lost wickets at regular intervals after that. Shanto scored a steady knock of 59 not out while Mehidy Hassan scored 57 runs which invariably led to Bangladesh’s win over Afghanistan.

The win was a great start for Bangladesh, who are undoubtedly looking to reach the knockout stages of the Cricket World Cup. They will be looking to continue their winning momentum against England in their next match where they will be tested.

Pakistan Begin World Cup Campaign with decisive win

Pakistan began their World Cup Campaign with a bang, defeating Netherlands by 81 runs. The top scorers for Pakistan were Saud Shakeel (68 runs) and Muhammad Rizwan (68 runs). Bas De Leede helped slow Pakistan’s momentum by taking 4 wickets and was accompanied by Colin Ackermann who took 2.

Vikramjit Singh (57 runs) and Bas De Leede (67 runs) managed to offer a hope for Netherlands but it was not enough as Haris Rauf went on to take 3 wickets for Pakistan and was accompanied by Hassan Ali who took 2 wickets.
